Charities Amendment Bill
Published 22 September 2022
The Minister for the Community and Voluntary Sector, Priyanca Radhakrishnan, has introduced the Charities Amendment Bill to the House. The Bill proposes changes including reduced reporting requirements for very small charities, improved transparency in reporting of funds for larger charities, and a new appeals process that will improve access to justice for more charities.
The bill will have its first reading, and then be referred to a Select Committee for a period of six months. The public will have an opportunity to provide feedback through the Select Committee process.
