The case report explains our review of the International Centre for Entrepreneurship Foundation (ICE Foundation).
Two charitable companies were deregistered, after a significant High Court decision clarified the law regarding benefit to private businesses (Canterbury Development Corporation). The ICE Foundation owned these two companies, and there was a significant debt owed to the ICE Foundation.
The two companies restructured to ensure they operated to fundraise for the ICE Foundation. The charity also made changes and introduced policies to ensure the charitable purpose of the ICE Foundation remained paramount in its operation.
This case report may be useful for charities who carry out business activities, or applicants who are considering registering a charity that fundraises for charitable purposes.
